I am far from an expert, but if you are going to be pushing stock components I would seriously consider a standalone and crank trigger setup to remove the possibility of timing scatter. Pulling the heads for porting and studs on a healthy engine that won't see more than the bottom end can handle seems to be overkill and unnecessary down time. If I recall the factory head bolts hold plenty for the power level you are seeking on a stock bottom end but perhaps the more knowledgeable folks here will chime in on the subject.
For what it's worth, my Z was down a long time when I spun a rod bearing and couldn't justify going in to debt to fix it. While collecting parts I got a bad case of "While I'm in there" and "might as well go bigger". I am currently breaking in a forged engine with GTX 2860's and all breather mods but I often ask myself if I wouldn't enjoy the car just as much with some stockers or billet stockers with all the breathers since I usually just drive around town and don't do highway pulls. Even at 12psi the car is plenty fast enough to run out of road everywhere short of the freeway which is why I asked what your plans were.
