Message dealership.

I also have quite a few friends locally that work at Nissan dealerships and have seen many CVT failures.

We had a 2009 Rogue and it failed at 115k miles (just shy of the 10 year /120k miles warranty extension on the CVT, thankfully), despite proper maintenance. When they diagnosed it, they told me they had a couple of rows of vehicles with failed CVTs awaiting replacement.

It's a big tell when Nissan decided to change to the ZF 9HP transmission in the latest Pathfinder / QX60. I can't believe they said the CVT in a Pathfinder can handle a tow rating of 5000 lbs. Yikes.
