Message I've been having intermittent dropouts on my speedometer so I finally decided to pull and disassemble the cluster and have a look....

IMG-7691

Looks pretty clean here... no obvious red flags ...

Notice how the screws are also part of the circuit (this becomes important later)....

Next I removed the speedometer module for a closer look...front looks fine... no obvious mechanical issues....

Circuit board looks fine ... what is going on?

IMG-7692

Ahh ... corrosion on the ground....gotcha?

Cleaned up the ground up with a wire brush and the screw and nut with a small tap and die (Metric 3mm x 0.5) and then reassembled the cluster...fingers crossed...

Plugged the cluster back in and put the rear on jack stands for a test run ... solved!

I hope this helps someone else....
