At 190K I broke a piston land (operator error). When I disassembled it the cylinder walls only had .0002 taper and the hash marks were still clearly visible and the bearings looked like they only had 10K miles on them. Crank journals were well within tolerance, totally round and no wear marks. I could have easily just replaced the piston and put it back into service for another 100K; but I didn't.
