Message	probably a result of a failure of some sort. Old gas, stuck/bad injector, electrical gremlin of some sort, etc. Soo.....I agree with everything here. Regardless of the cause, it sounds like he still needs/wants someone to give the car a look-over to see if anything is out of sorts.
