Message The is no home mode to get the car home. The only indicator will be a rough running car at which point the driver should check the led indicators.

Theoretically, I could just substitute the one good sensor reading for the other. However, this may put the car running at a well enough level that the driver never looks to see if something is wrong.

Despite what the voltage is, the unit will continue to add/average them so the ecu sees some signal. But it’s not going to run right.

It really comes down the the MAF failure mode.
If it fails open or outputs ground(dead sensor). The channel input sees ground.
If it fails at max voltage or passes the 12V. The channel will go the the rails and output 5.12V.

I’m not sure if a MAF failure mode is a constant output voltage, like always 2VDC. If so, it will not recognize that, but you car will not run right either.
