from the increased diameter of the exhaust, right? Like you, I had a nice cat-back exhaust on my Z when I bought it (Stillen quad round tip 2.5”, no longer available) and I loved the sound. I think it was the only part I kept for all my bolt-on upgrades. But I went three-inch for everything proximal to the cat-back I'm gonna guesstimate 80% of the benefit you obtain from upgrading to 3" inch comes from before the cat-back, but feel free to school me if you think that number is not realistic.
