I’m no transmission expert, but I’d replace the bearing in one of your transmissions and reinstall. Run the car close to your previous power levels (500-ish hp/torque) and see if whine returns. If whine still persists, then it may be as Bernie (referencing Mike Smith) said about glazed gears. My understanding is that glazing comes from lack of lubrication or lubricant break down. If the whine isn’t present at first but develops, there could be a possibility of a reassembly issue. Not sure what that may be, but I’d guess if things aren’t put back together just right it could cause some issue. Also, if the bearing can be removed without damage, I’d inspect it to confirm failure. I’ll also mention an upgrade option. You could cryotreat your input shaft and bearing. I have never used this service, but a reasonable increase in strength (thought I saw ~15% or so) is reported in some application. Depends on material and processing but I’m sure one of these places could assess if it’s right for you.
