Message OEM composite lens come coated from the factory. That coating prevents discoloration and reduces scratches. The reason some factory headlights turn yellow or even have putting is because of improper care during washing. People use abrasives when polishing/waxing the car and coating comes off.

If you take proper care of composite lens, they should last for decades. headlights on my 2001 325i look brand new.
