tightening the fuel line clamps, packing every connector I can get my hands on under the hood with dielectric grease. Correct me if I am wrong and I'll eat a bug but a fairly common misconception is that dielectric grease is a conductor. I believe it is an insulator. At one point I tried testing this for my own edification. Anywho, dielectric grease works by preventing corrosion but it's an insulator, not a conductor. Now if someone can tell me what makes it "dielectric" and why it is better for connectors than say a good silicone grease or even Vaseline, then my knowledge gaps on this topic will be filled.
