Subject	Anyone rebuild a manual transmission?

Message	Are specialized tools absolutely required? Is it very difficult? Mine is shifting fine, but whines pretty badly in neutral. I'm figuring some of the bearings on the input shaft are going/gone(?) Debating opening it up to make some replacements(?) Thanks for any input.
