The picture shows what happens with higher than stock boost when you don't hear the detonation in time to back off. The engine is rouged; after this broke it ran just fine, no smoke, no rough idle. What brought it to my attention was I started seeing some oil leaks, the blow-by was pushing oil out the seals and gaskets. When I tore it down the walls were totally smooth and undamaged, all the pieces stayed contained in the ring grove. I went ahead and did a complete machining/rebuild/blueprint/balance and put Ross Racing Pistons in. The configuration at the time of the damage was stock turbos, JWT chip & restrictors; 91 octane, hot day, overly aggressive foot.
