Message They are proven to free up HP/TQ, and have been used for years without ill effect. The cons being they shouldn't be used for high rpm or high HP setups on engines lacking precise internal rotational assembly balancing, and you lose some street-ability. At that point you should be using a factory or aftermarket harmonic balancer of some sort to dampen those vibrations, ATI, Fluidampr, etc.

From my own experience regarding Z32's in particular, I think the benefit is there and is quite noticeable, especially for the NA VGs. I have never seen a lightweight pulley set be the absolute cause of failure regarding these engines, but our engines are decently balanced from the factory and not a long crankshaft design like a inline 6. To each their own.
