There's a reason pretty much all OEM turbos are journal bearings. BBs have short lifespan vs a journal, especially modern dual layer journals. Modern journals don't have the frictional downsides that they used to against BBs, so there's really no reason anymore. I care much more about the modern materials and geometries making lighter weight, better flowing, and more responsive turbos.
