So I'm building a motor... My machinist is in the camp that believes the best torque plates are made from an old set of heads ... so since it we were in Covid and waiting on pistons and rods (CP/Carrillo BTW), I thought "let's do it"... First step was to disassemble and clean a set of old 30p heads ...
The next step was to remove the extra material from the head. It took a couple of calls to find a guy with a big enough saw to cut down the heads, (And $50 ;-) ....
Next, my machinist bored the new plates to 90 mm and then used them to bore the block. They worked perfectly. Here's the finished product ...

In 5 weeks we're on the dyno .....
