Message A factory TT and a converted TT can both be hack jobs, or both be top-notch quality. I wouldn't walk away from the car simply because it's a conversion.

If someone slapped TT parts on a NA shortblock without going through it thoroughly and properly tuning it, you'll probably gonna have a bad time.

If they used the high-comp bottom end, went through the rotating assembly, refreshed everything, have proper fuel and tuning, it can be a solid car.

If it's a swap using a true TT motor and accompanying systems and it was refreshed as part of the swap, that would be the best situation.

As mentioned above, you need to find out detail of what was swapped and what kind of work was done.
