1. Easier to work on when in single turbo configuration, Sorry folks but that part is a fact. 2. Inline 6 sounds better. While I think the VG is actually one of the best sounding V6’s ever, it still doesn’t compare to the inline 6 (not just the RB). The horrible vq straight piped 350z’s that followed us tarnished the v6 tone for the rest of us, and I honestly don’t think the R35 was much better. RB’s and 2J’s also have wider rod bearing journals and historically speaking their cranks/rod bearings can withstand more load than our narrower VG. If Nissan could have just made the VG a C-hair longer and utilized wider rod journals, the VG would have the exact same power potential of any motor out there. Still love both engines. What’s missed in all that bullshit of a “video” is that Nissan engineered 2 badass engines during the same time, and both were awesome in their own ways.
