You might notice that you need to bleed it multiple times until it maintains a firm pedal (may depend on altitude).

I run DOT5 in my 50 year old Corvette and it has been great. The car rarely gets driven, but the brakes have been very reliable. I was very glad for the silicone fluid when a malfunction during the restoration caused quite a bit of brake fluid splatter-- no paint damage at all!
