Message	I cut the handle pivot rod, and removed it so that I could prep and paint the handle and body individually. I found a suitable replacement rod and pushnut from McMaster-Carr to allow it to be reassembled properly. There were lots of scratched from keys/rings in the recess under the handle, and this allowed me to repair and prep the parts much better. This might also allow you to clearance the handle body better to prevent rubbing.
