Subject	Is pulling the green pump relay still the best way?

Message	To relieve the fuel pressure, most people pull the green relay, and crank a couple of times. Will the engine start briefly with the relay pulled ? I've heard its not good on the fuel injectors to run the engine completely out of gas. Is this true for just a short period to relieve the pressure. Does the fuel cool or lubricate the injectors to prolong their life ?
