This always brings back memories of a guy in our town that had a very nice 69 Chevelle when I was a pup. He had lots of mods done to it, including stroking out the motor. It sounded go good, but like a typical punk he had it all in the "go" and none in the show and the car was in primer for years. One summer he finally got it painted a reddish maroon pearl and it was worth the wait - beautiful car that ran and sounded amazing. He had a flex fan which were just getting popular back then and probably 8-9 months after he got it done, he was at the local midnight race track (dead end highway with 2 lanes going the same direction) and was racing another buddy that recently finished his car. At about 1/2 way thru the 1/4 - we all heard a loud noise and saw sparks. We drive down to see his Chevelle pulled to the side......with that flex fan sticking 1/2 way through his beautifully painted hood. It was sickening.
