Since the VG naturally makes a lot more midrange torque than many other Japanese performance vehicles, it "feels" faster at a lower HP level, IMO of course. There are other things that play into it and it depends on what you do with your car obviously. 400hp feels slow at the drag strip and one would probably thirst for more, but can be too much power on a mountain/twisty road or actual track to safely/efficiently lay down, so it's all relative. I stand by my previous statement.
