And correct me if I am wrong which I was once back in 1994, but I believe "Safety" inspections were not shown to improve safety or prevent accidents. All they do / did was increase cost of owning a vehicle and increase revenue for the shops doing the inspections. I remember a garage failed me one time in PA because the windshield washer was weak on one side. I fixed it at home with straight pin, but still had to pay the "repeat" fee to get the sticker. Blech.
