Subject	93’ OE paint: single stage or clear coat?

Message	Curious. Always thought they came with a clear coat above the paint. But when I did a little 1” test section with a mild polish on my spoiler I got the “red towel”. But when I test a small section on by he hood and nose panel I did not get the “red towel”. Prev. owner was very aggressive with washing as there are swirls. paint in great condition and has gloss/shine. And most would not notice the swirls but I do. The spoiler looks oxidized and faded when compared to rest of body. This makes me wonder if the spoiler was repainted with a single stage at one time. Your thoughts / experiences. ` 1990 NA 1993 TT
