Message in the rear, and change the trans for a T-56 wide ratio double overdrive. The top gear is 0.51, cutting rpms in half. Gearing is pretty close to our 5 spd for the first five gear sets. Tremec designates trans models as "TUET"s

Final: 3.69 TT or 4.08 NA

With a 3.54 diff, at expressway speeds of say 65-80 mph; the engine rpm in my cars stays between 2100-2300 rpm depending on tire size. Basically loafing just under the torque curve.

There was a guy here who was selling bellhousing adaptor kits, but as I recall the price was prohibitive. LOJ, the LS swap guru, was interested in developing an adaptor, but not sure if the project even got off the ground.
