Message	FS5R30A gear/synchro comparison The problem with rebuilding older Z32 5 speed synchros is the brass rings for the older 2nd and 3rd gears are NLA. This is due to the switch that Nissan did in 1998 which changed the strut nose angle bias on 2nd and 3rd gears, with a corresponding opposite bias on the brass rings and sliders. Individually, these '98+ parts will not work on older gears unless you change the entire gear/brass/slider as an assembly.
