We had a pretty thorough check in 2013 when we did the turbo swap and apart from some minor surface rust on the lower arm flanges, it looked no worse than any of the summer only driven Zeds that we routinely wrench on. I winter drove it back in 2006-2008 daily in Edmonton and kept it clean as I could. Also, Edmonton wasn't using much if any road salt, however lots of sand & gravel. In the last 2 years, Edmonton has begun using lots of calcium chloride, I wouldn't winter drive anything I value highly now :(
