Message 36-2 and -1 (or any other count for that matter) would not be the reason for not being a cam sync signal.. it would depend on spark firing method (ie, wasted spark, sequential, paired, bank to bank etc). The VG motor is a sequential type so it needs a cam signal to identify TDC of the compression stroke.. not sure if you can run wasted spark on our motor and not run a cam signal. Maybe it could fire TDC cyl 1 and at same time fire cyl 4, and repeat semi sequentially 180 deg out of phase?

Brett as far as I know it's offering the two types based on what ECU you have available to you and if you want to run -1 or -2 etc. The 12 and 1 setup is the only setup that the Haltech Platinum pro pnp will work with.. whereas the Elite ECU can do any trigger wheel config you want and it's up to the user to know what and why they want it.. and they should know before they install it.
