People do all kinds of things to bump up their dyno numbers. You could put ice packs on the plenum, turn some canned air upside down and spray the intercoolers, etc. What does heat soaking an engine on a dyno have to do with deciding whether or not to paint, polish, or coat a plenum, except theoretically? Ten minutes of bumper to bumper traffic in August will also heat soak an engine. I get that it probably makes it happen faster, and maybe more often.
