Message	I think it's more likely that you were using a crappier class D amp. Alpine amps aren't that great to begin with, and their cheaper stuff is garbage. Wile what you are saying was definitely true 20+ years ago, JL changed the game with their "slash" series amps around 20 years ago. Most would not be able to tell the difference between a good quality class D and class a/b. The benefits in efficiency and safety are worth it.
