I went down this path as well with Alpine Class D's a few years back. I did the full under the seat install with all new wiring and speakers, (and the full Gordo Sound Deadening treatment on my doors :-) I ended up replacing the amp. (I still have it unistalled, basically NIB). The digital Class D amps don't sound right unless you were born in the digital age. As an older "analog guy in a digital world", I found that I had to go back and find and install old school, period correct amps in order for the music to sound "right" in my car(s). (In my case old school Rockford Fosgates)
