Here are the common threads that have run through a majority of the "sportiest" sportscars: low nose, wide stance, steep rake on the windshield, simple lines and curves (unlike the new supra), functional ducts/ports/scoops/cowls, great headlights and taillights (who didn't like the Mk4 Supra taillights?) and a roof apex whose highest point is not in the dead center of the long axis of the car. A pyramid shaped sportscar is doomed in my opinion. I personally have always liked the Lotus Esprit...which meets the criteria I just mentioned. Steve Millen's Z32 race car, and our own Z32s exhibit these characteristics well. Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Lotus ( esprit: italian designed) understand this better than anyone. Maybe this is why everyone wants one. Who knows, someday there might even be a mid-engine Nissan sportscar.
