Message	These are spectacular tires, but not the best if you drive them in crappy weather. That aside, I got 245/45/16 for the rear, and 225/45/16s for the front, only because they didn't have the 225/50s for the front. The difference in height is negligible. They are about 1/2" smaller in overall diameter and about 1" larger, footprint wise. That being said, there are alot of 225/50/16s available in different performance and treadware categories. I called Tire Rack and "Dustin" said they have about 40 different tires in that size. I don't think they are as rare as you think. Try calling Tire Rack.
