If you do any type of sustained road course use it not a matter of if its when it will blow. In the past 2 years Ive been through 3 transmissions. They generally all fail the same way. 3rd gear and counter gear gives out. My Z is about 450-500 rwhp. You may thing I'm shifting like Vin Diesel on a crack habit with naws and a couple of sneaky pete's under the seat. I don't do any of that hyped up crap. Simple, precise, shifts, allowing the syncros enough time to do their job. The same trans driven on the street will last 100K+ miles. A kit like this will be in my Z this summer. My plan is to race with a couple of friends at COTA this October. I don't want to waste my time trying to rebuilds or swapping out transmissions at the track. Yes used transmissions might be cheap but as I'm get older my time is becoming the most precious resource. Im gonna Swat this issue with a BFH and have some fun.
