Message	they were bouncing around in the package during shipping and the frame mounting points took the beating. That plastic is old and somewhat brittle, I can see that happening. You live in MI, and if the roads around there are anything like the roads here in MN then just the truck bouncing down the road with a poorly packaged item can cause issues.
