If a competent tuner with an adequate system sets up your flex fuel tables correctly, you (the end user) will never have to worry about the percentage of ethanol in the car. It's really a "set it and forget it" type thing - flex fuel should be seamless once implemented, just like the OE setup you're talking about. Only they spend millions setting that up, while standalone users will spend, what, $1000 or so on a good flex fuel tune? (We charge ~$800 + fuel for MR2/FRS flex fuel tubes, I don't remember what we charged Elliott for his Z32)
