Message	logged on his Z than probably this entire forum combined, I can assure you the 3.69 rear end is still too short. I never drove below 95mph on unrestricted sections of autobahn. I cant recall exactly what the rpm's were at but they were annoyingly high. I completely understood the desire others feel for a 6th gear. So no, this car was not designed specifically with the autobahn in mind. Doesn't mean design elements are not beneficial or especially attractive to german drivers, but to suggest it was "autobahn inspired" is not reflected in the design from what I can tell.
