Message It is intended to raise the boiling point. If you are going to run continuous 210ºF engine temps that is when you need to bump up the coolant system pressure.

Car manufacturers have been doing it now because they can run temps of up to 230ºF for emissions/efficiency.

If you are OEM thermostat and not tuning your car for efficiency, don't bother.
