or radar speed detection that inherently requires some sort of time period to get a measurement, just how fast the signal processing is designed in the device itself. You can get a speed measurement the instant a pulse from the radar/laser "beam" returns to the device.....at the speed of light, basically instantly. How the device processes the return signal may create a short delay, but again, that is due to the device design. From what I have read, laser devices are designed for instant processing. They put the crosshairs on your car, press the button/trigger to emit the beam, and instantly your speed is displayed.
