Message	Yes still relevant. Used a V1 for 10 years and now use a Uniden R3. The V1 was great for the time but just doesn't compare to the Uniden. The Uniden is the best one for the money as far as range and filtering goes. I use mine along with Waze. If you don't need gps capability the R1 is just as good for $100 less.
