| close to autoX and I cant recall ever feeling like the car was not letting me step out the rear. Really in those days my issue was egregious understeer from the worn out stock suspension. There are tons of old R&T driver tests where the author characterized the car (on fresh new suspension at the time) as a slalom monster. It is far more beneficial a system than ever coul dpossibly be detrimental unless you want a drift car, then it will fight you. I could definitely imagine some autoX layouts perhaps resulting in the car not doing what you expect, but unplugging the module seems a far more sensible solution for sunday afternoon than eliminating the system entirely. The trigger conditions are in the FSM IIRC.
I want to say there is a minimum speed i.e. 55mph where the system doesnt activate at all, and you have to apply a certain degree of steering input suddenly or at a certain rate i.e. yank the wheel one way or the other. I could step the rear out at will on the long sweeper at Spa so those sort of steering inputs should really never happen on a track, but I could see an autoX triggering it if the minimum speed is met of course.
