Message that most people follow. As I have had too many experiences with poor bed-in that I can only attribute to me not knowing if I am braking hard enough, too hard, or not-uniformly-enough hard-braking to bed them in.

I think as you upsize the brakes (and in turn the heat capacity) then the traditional method requires higher speeds or increased runs in order to heat up the brakes enough to transfer material onto the rotors properly/well.

Not to mention you have to find a deserted road with enough room for 60, 70, 80 mph speeds.

I saw a miata racer bed in fresh brakes at the track by dragging the brakes under throttle to get them up to temp and then cruising/coasting to allow them to cool before repeating for a second time. This seems like a better and easier way to bed in brakes, plus it can be done on any stretch of highway or interstate even with traffic.

I tried it myself and got much better results. No more uneven pad deposits on the rotors creating shudder/shake,
