I asked for more pictures to get to the bottom of what happened vs the people on the forums that love to point fingers. Half a rod nut was retrieved from the oil pan upon further inspection. Patrick can post the picture if he so chooses. One thing to note is that the rod bolt without the nut on it was completely out of the rod and in the pan. Lazy Link So it is not like the rod bolt was still in the rod with the nut missing. LOTS of things happened during the implosion. Here is a post that a lot of people may have missed also. Looks like this is not just one isolated incident. Lazy Link I don't think I built his motor or Nick's motor and I certainly didn't build Ash's motor. I now think that the stock rods just are not cut out of the increased boost and torque levels that people are seeing on E85.
