My Z Story – June 2017
In January 1990 I purchased a new 300ZX Twin Turbo while living in Annandale, Virginia. In July 2002 (12 years after I purchased the car) I had a new factory 1995 spec’ed engine and transmission installed. In March 2008 I moved to Florida. In 2010 the original Air Conditioning Compressor and Alternator had to be replaced at 150K miles along with several other items. This year for the 120K mile service I decided to take my Z car to Northern Virginia and have Bernie Bilski do the 120K mile service and replace/repair any parts needed to include belts and hoses. I Departed Florida on Wednesday June 7. After traveling 1,200+ miles I arrived at Bernie’s around noon, on Friday June 9, 2017. I left the car at Bernie’s and flew back to Florida. Eight days later Bernie informed me the work on the car was completed and I could pick up my Z. On Saturday June 17 I flew to Washington Reagan and picked the car up, drove it back to Florida without any problems or issues. Now you are probably wondering why I would make four trips of 1,200+ miles each (Two by air and 2 by road) to Northern Virginia to have Bernie work on my car. Bernie is the best and most competent person I have encountered in the 27 years that I have owned my Z. He does not need to spend hours diagnosing a problem because he knows these cars. His Z knowledge allows him to avoid using “The process of elimination” (Replacing a number of parts, one after the other to see if that fixes the problem). Bernie also has a stoke pile of parts to address any mechanical issue.
