I don't compare the Mustang II to the C3 Corvette, either. They're different types of designs marketed at different buyers separated by a few important years significant as a changing point in auto design. That change also happened right after the Z32 and I'm not certain whether the Z32 was the cause of that change or it was just a response to market conditions.
The Z32 is a unique design that beat every car company to the punch and I value it based on that. Ever look at the Mid4 and Honda HP-X? That to me would be a more worthwhile "what if" discussion and comparison.
