The Automatic 9-3 had a recall for "transmission cooler o-ring" at some point for the radiator/trans cooler due to mixing of engine coolant with trans fluid (I think they used a toyota transmission?) Either way by now it should have been worked out. Also when the water pump goes, you need a familiar mechanic to use a special tool to hold the timing chain in place while h20 pump is replaced, engine might sound slightly different after replacement due to different chain tension or chain going over new gear. I'm trying to think what other options are out there?! Oh...how about a Volvo??!?!
