Long story short I had a large clunking noise in my TT. This was eventually traced down to the transmission itself. Here are some crappy videos I made.
Basically whats happening in these videos, is the clutch is being engaged and disengaged in 1st or reverse. The loud knocking sound is coming from inside the trans. Everything behind it has been ruled out. Options 1. Local drive line shop for a rebuild 2. order a new 98+ trans (way too expensive) 3. Call JWT and see what the deal is with their deal is with the 350z swap. Read the instructions which requires tracking down an auto bell housing and cutting it seems like a pain the ass. Guys who have been in this situation, what have you done? Can low mileage imported transmissions still be found?
