Message Injection. Which I'd say is a minor inconvenience in the grand scheme of things. At worst, you're looking at around $400 to $800 for walnut blasting the inside of your intake ports (heads still mounted) every 60-80k miles, conservatively. The trade-off for fuel economy, power, and knock resistance is well worth it IMO. Especially considering how many aftermarket port injection solutions are coming out for multiple DI platforms. These are still very solid engines - some I've seen with over 220k miles still going strong; others with over 100k miles without addressing the carbon buildup and still running.
