I just caught wind of this technology from koenigsegg. It's insane. I think camshafts will be a thing of the past in a decade. Independent control of each valve electronically including variable timing and lift. This technology has some serious potential. Especially for turbo cars. Variable lift valves would be Amazing for achieving a smooth idle while having great high end power capabilities. No more compromising low end torque and shitty idle to get the big high-end HP. No more timing belt Quick spool (anti-lag) capabilities This technology has some serious potential. Unfortunate to see that the Chinese auto makers appear to be the ones taking the initiative to try this new design in their everyday commuter cars. Hers some info on it. There are some great youtube vids done by koenigsegg as well. https://www.google.ca/amp/www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/car-technology/news/amp31657/koenigseggs-camless-engine-getting-close-to-production-in-china/
