I haven't seen the car yet and won't until I get down there. The owner says there are 0 mechanical problems but who knows. he has an inspection report from the local Nissan dealership but it looks like they just checked fluids and brakes. The car fax shows an oil change a week ago along with regular oil and filter changes throughout its history. I'm just paranoid that the belt is 20 year old and, from the car fax report, this will be the longest trip it has ever been on. I'm new to cars but I'm confident that I can identify a problem noise when I hear it.
I guess a general question I have is, is it possible for a timing belt to break without any warning signs/noises?
